Here are two versions of a cartoon I recently did. The first one I used for the weekly CCGB caption contest, and the second one was another one for Dive Addicts.
For a competition. The subject was the Supreme Court's ruling in the FEC vs. Citizen's United Case. It basically said that corporations have the same 1st amendment rights as an individual and can use their money to fund political campaigns - which makes their voices a lot louder than those of the public.
I thought that the composition worked better this way because the background is less cluttered behind the action. Not that the other one's bad, this just works better.
