The inspiration for this comic was my wife's younger cousins. They won a pet chicken at a fair and used it as the parrot for a pirate Halloween costume. The chicken recently passed away (RIP) so I thought I'd do a little tribute.

I thought that the composition worked better this way because the background is less cluttered behind the action. Not that the other one's bad, this just works better.
