In case you hadn't already heard, I just won the Cartoonist Studio's 4th annual "So You Wanna Be A Cartoonist" contest! Thanks to everyone who voted and who has been supportive, especially my parents, in-laws, and my beautiful wife. I'm pretty much obsessed with cartooning, so it feels good to have my work recognized. Also, a shout-out to the other extremely talented contestants. They all did an amazing job, and definitely didn't make it easy for me. :)
I'm a little overwhelmed by all the good news I've gotten this week. First, I got accepted into the Graphic Design BFA program at school, then my gorgeous little girl was born, and now this. How many good things can happen to a guy at once, huh?

New baby!

Here's what's been going on in the Cole household recently! She was born 4/16/2013 at 11:43 pm, weighed 5 lbs 9 oz, and was 18.5 inches long. Xochil's placenta stopped growing along with the baby, despite staying healthy, so she stopped growing in the womb. Because of that, the doctor decided to induce Xochil a week early, but our baby girl is here now and both mom and baby are 100% healthy! Now if we could only decide on a name!

For a competition. The subject was the Supreme Court's ruling in the FEC vs. Citizen's United Case. It basically said that corporations have the same 1st amendment rights as an individual and can use their money to fund political campaigns - which makes their voices a lot louder than those of the public.
